StoreShots turns app screenshots into a coordinated set of images with backgrounds, device frames, and optional headlines. Aim for a useful result with few edits: upload, inspect the first set, adjust the look and copy, then export.

This is a browser workflow. A browser capable of interacting with the editor, choosing local files, and receiving downloads is required. This Markdown URL is documentation, not an image-generation API; StoreShots does not currently provide a public automation API.

## Inputs and access

- Use the user's PNG, JPEG, or WebP screenshots. The uploader accepts multiple files.
- Use supplied screenshot order, headline text, brand preferences, and target device sizes. If those preferences are absent, start with the generated style and the default iPhone 6.9-inch size.
- Editing and previewing work without sign-in. Export requires Google sign-in and an eligible paid subscription. The current Pro offer is $3/month; Studio is $10/month and adds projects, localization, and AI generation. Confirm the offer shown in the app, since prices and availability can change.
- If sign-in or payment prevents export, preserve the edited set and describe the remaining step. Continue with any purchase already authorized by the user; this guide does not authorize a new subscription or paid generation.

## Create a set

1. Open the app. If it restores an existing design, inspect it before uploading: uploads into an existing set append slides. Use the project menu to choose the intended project. Use **Start over** only when clearing that design is part of the user's request.
2. On the empty screen, choose **Drop screenshots here** and select the input files, or drop them onto the page. In an existing set, use **Add → Phone screenshot**. Wait for the images to appear and inspect any upload error before retrying.
3. Inspect every slide visually. The preview is drawn on a canvas, so text or accessibility snapshots alone cannot confirm that an image is framed correctly. Check that every input is represented, the order is correct, and headlines do not cover important app UI. See the import notes below if the result is unexpected.
4. Open **Look** to apply a coordinated preset to the whole set. Options include Midnight, Paper, Mono, Neon, Forest, Sunset, Editorial, and Obsidian. The adjacent frame selector changes the device finish. Make further changes only when they improve the requested result.
5. Open **Captions** to edit one headline per slide, then select **Done**. An empty field removes that headline. Wrap words in asterisks to highlight them, for example `Track your *progress*`. The initial captions and **Shuffle wording** are generic suggestions, not an analysis of the uploaded app. Replace unsupported claims with wording grounded in the user's description or omit the caption.
6. Select the device-size menu in the top bar. It controls the design preview; **Also export at** adds output sizes. Review the design at each requested shape, especially when switching between iPhone and iPad.
7. Use **Preview** to inspect the set without editing controls. Select **Fit all** beside the close button to shrink and center every slide in the window; select it again to restore large previews. This changes only the view, not the exported images. Check readability, cropping, slide order, and all requested screenshots before exporting.

## Edit individual slides

Select a slide on the canvas to reveal its toolbar. Read the current labels or accessible names; positions change with selection and viewport size.

| More tools → Fill the slide with the image | Use the image edge to edge instead of inside a phone. |
| Undo / Redo | Recover from an unwanted edit without clearing the set. |

## Current import behavior

Images whose dimensions exactly match an export size can be interpreted as already composed artwork and placed edge to edge. A raw app screenshot can match those dimensions too. If it needs a device frame or its caption overlaps the app UI, select the slide and use **More tools → Put the image back in a phone**.

Batches of four or more portrait screenshots can automatically combine two inputs into a Duo slide. Slide count therefore need not equal input count. If a combined slide was also imported as an edge-to-edge image, its second screenshot may be hidden; restoring the phone composition can reveal it. If the user requires one image per slide, change the combined slide to a single-device layout and add the other original screenshot separately. Recheck all inputs after changing layouts.

## Export and deliver

The current output sizes are:

1. Select **Export**. If a plan or sign-in dialog appears, resolve the access requirement within the user's authorization and return to the same design.
2. Wait for the **Your set is ready** tray, or inspect the error if rendering fails. Rendering completion does not automatically download the files.
3. Select **Download ZIP**, or expand **Download individually** for individual PNGs. Receive the download with the browser's download mechanism.
4. Verify that the downloaded files contain the requested slides and sizes. ZIP entries are grouped by size; localized sets also have locale folders. Inspect the actual PNGs when possible, including their dimensions and any unwanted watermark or clipping.
5. Return the downloaded artifact and state the slide count, sizes, and any unfinished requirement. Do not describe the task as exported if only the editor preview or paywall was reached.

**Languages** is optional and requires the relevant Studio access. Finish the source captions first; later edits can make translations stale. Check the export tray for missing or stale languages that were excluded. AI backgrounds are also optional and can consume generation credits; neither feature is needed for a basic screenshot set.

StoreShots produces files for the user to upload to their store listing. Exporting does not publish the app or upload screenshots to App Store Connect.
